Tomato Ketchup, East Lake Kampar

Tomato Ketchup? What come to your mind when mention about this? A bottle of Tomato Ketchup? Well, this is not about a bottle of sauce but a restaurant that serve western foods and famous with their dessert, Cheesecake. My friend recommend me this restaurant located at Eastlake, Kampar. It is located at the row of shop houses next to Tesco. The big banner with bright red tomatoes should catch your attention easily .I went there with my housemate. The restaurant opened at 5pm, that time we reach there at 6pm & no people at all but people slowly fill the place up.

the environment

The environment is clean and neat, they have tables of different sizes for small & large groups of patrons. The dining area is very spacious and cooling.

Most of their signature dish combine with tomato. For western food, there are 3 side dishes which is fries, mashed potatoes, rice or coleslaw

Since we are here, something we cannot miss is their Cheesecake. They served different kind of cheesecake every week. That time, they serve two type of cakes so we order both.

The price is affordable. They also serve quality of food and their service is friendly. This is a truly attractive dining place for Kamparians.

Face to Face Noodles @ Kampar

When my housemate suggest we have dinner at 面对面 or Face to Face I was wondering what food they are serving? Actually they open not long ago at Kampar New Town. They have branches in Damansara Perdana & Subang Jaya. This shop is specializes in noodles but their signature is pan mee or broad noodles. Usually, it served with soup or dry, anchovies and chili.

I am not a pan mee lover but I would like to have a try since my housemate said is tasty. You can choose soup or dry pan mee depending on your preference and also can request for thick or thin pan mee. I ordered dish dry hot & spicy chili pan mee since is the house speciality & my housemate order soup pan mee.

There are variety of chili on the table for different kind of noodles. You can ask the staff if you not sure which is suitable. The price is reasonable which cost RM5.80 per bowl. Check this place when you are craving for pan mee.

Food Journey all the way to Ipoh

I suppose post about my trip to China but I find food trip is more interesting. So I decided my China trip will continue after this post.

This week is my study week & for this time I stay at Kampar during study week because I cannot studies at home. Suddenly we have something in our mind, why don we do 1 day food trip to Ipoh & everyone agree with this. (when talk about food, all sure agree. *wink*)

So our journey start next day at 1pm & 1st stop is Tanjung Tualang to have seafood. This is my 2nd time there where we feel like trying other restaurant rather than Lung Seng. (click here for my previous review) This time we want to try the restaurant newly open opposite Lung Seng name Sun Mee Foong. Actually not consider new, 2 month back the whole stretch of shops is tragically on fire include Sun Mee Foong & Luen Fong.

We order 1kg of prawn cost RM58 prepare in 2 ways, a vegetable & fried oyster

I just can conclude that, the dish is not tasty even the vegetable. The prawns are mostly mix with small prawn where you only manage find 2 big prawn is not worth it & I feel the prawns we order at Lung Seng even bigger and more prawns is served. None of us is satisfied.

Since the lunch is not satisfactory, we going for tea-time at Ipoh De Garden. Since we pass by Kellies Castle, we stop & take picture before continue journey to Ipoh. LoL

You all have the chances to try out strawberry dessert cafe at Ipoh rather than drive a long way to Cameron to taste it. Is a good news for strawberry lovers.

We heard that there is a restaurant specializing in German Beers & German cuisine so we would like to have a try. Finally we found Berlin's Bier Houz at Greentown Ipoh.

Since you are here, you can miss out German Pork Knuckle. German cuisine is never complete without German Pork. You can either order full (RM43.80 ) or half potion (RM25). We ordered half portion but is big enough for four of us. Love the brown sauce & there are some alcohol taste. view from the top

Love everything they served in this bistro. Will come again when I come to Ipoh. If you at around Ipoh you need to try this. Highly recommended. Since Tong Sui Kai (Dessert Street) is near one of my friend suggest that we go to have dessert before end our trip.

Mix Fruits Ice (RM3.90)

After dessert at Tong Sui Kai, we heading back to Kampar & ended our food trip to Ipoh with full of satisfaction. Even do some of the food photo doesn't look good but I can said that the taste is awesome. Don't judge a food by photo but with taste.

Vegas Kitchen @ Bandar Baru Kampar

On Tuesday, my boyfriend visited me in Kampar and bringing needed warmth from him ^-^

Since this is not the first time he come, so i decided bring him to eat something special rather than claypot chicken rice or chicken chop rice.

I call Vegas to make reservation before I go.

Few week back, I went there with my housemate and guess what the place is full of student and some had waited for almost half hour for a table.

So make sure that you make reservation before you GO!

Tanjung tualang and Kellies Castle

Is already more than 1 years I have been studying in Kampar.

I already use to the life here and enjoy with my housemate

but

I back every week too *wink*

I remember my 1st post  about Kampar saying the place is boring and inconvenient,

 now I can said that the place change me and my lifestyle.

Last week, I was in Kampar during the weekend and one of my housemate plan to

eat seafood at Tanjung Tualang (15min from kampar)

Is really difficult to go there if you don't know the place

and we ask many people and finally reach our destination ( ^^)

Tanjung Tualang was once a mining area but the area has converted to become freshwater pond to brred freshwater prawn.

there are many seafood restaurant and we ended up pick

 Lung Seng

the medium prawn cost RM60 per kg and we had 1kg of medium prawn prepare in 2 ways

the 1st is 

 

steamed prawn with chinese wine and egg white

butter prawn

and 

fried oyster

we did order vegetable but we already cant resist to eat the prawn we just ignore the photo of the vegetable (^^) 

is the best and yummy lunch we had

after lunch at tanjung tualang, we saw a sign where is near to Batu Gajah

so we decided to go Kellies Castle

at the entrance of the castle

and soon we discover my housemate species a BEAR!!

we spend almost 1hour there before ended our journey back to Kampar
